A little update…

I’ve been a way for a minute and the most simple explanation I can give you for it is, life happens. I’ve had so much I’ve wanted to share with you, but not enough time in each day to sit and write it down. I secretly hate not being consistent, but it’s honestly a constant struggle I’m trying to work on. I want to be more consistent in the things that I commit to doing. At the same time, being a first time mom and just a mom period, I’m learning to give myself much more patience and grace. I guess that was my opening disclaimer to make me feel better about not sharing with you for a while. I’m glad I got it out lol.

Anywho, while I’ve been MIA, so much has happened. First things first, my baby turned the big ONE years old back in July. I had a whole quarantine-safe birthday party for him with our framily and it was so much fun. The time flew by, and I still can’t believe we had a whole human and have now been with said tiny human for over a year.

He is talking up a storm, and “burning rubber” on his knees, crawling all around the house on our wood floors. He isn’t walking yet, but we’re patiently waiting. Insert comment here about giving myself grace – I’ve come to realize that he is going to do everything in his own time, and I dare not compare him to any other kiddos around. He was a preemie, he’s super smart, extremely sweet, and all around amazing. He’ll walk in due time. For now, we’ll continue to hold his hands and guide him while he takes steps in his cute little Stride Rite shoes. If you do have really good tips for getting littles walking, please share them in the comments!

Oh, and I mentioned he’s talking! First of all, Big Faith Baby has the baby talk on point. He has whole conversations with us in his own little baby language. It’s so cute and makes us laugh. He also has lots of words down like car, dog, and let’s go, and he knows who the important people are by calling us: mama, dada, Gaga (Grammy), Nana, and so on. We love doing flash cards with him and reading to him. I know it’s going to happen before we know it – he’ll be speaking in full sentences.

Can you say…?

Well I guess that’s a good update for now. I’m going to come back to you all later with some new news and updates on the little one and our millennial parenting – like how we went on a parent vacation for my birthday and stayed set from our little for an entire week ::omg!:: Also how Trader Joe’s quick meals are helping me be a better cooking mama! Please stay tuned, like this post, share it and subscribe.
